Deputy Principal in a large primary school and Junior Primary School
Junior Primary School Principal

At the moment I am teaching in an R/1 class. I have taught R-3 classes in 2 IB / PYP schools in South Australia. In 3 schools prior to this I taught in R-3 classes with a focus on the Learning to learn project and brain based learning.
I love finding new ideas, sites and exploring new technologies. My interests in education include IWB’s, planning, programming and inquiry based learning. I try to keep up with current trends and professional development.
I’m also particularly interested in environmental issues and sites that take action to save animals, such as sun bears. I organised a market with my class and raised nearly $900 to save sun bears. My students were highly involved in an inquiry unit on this topic and were keen to take a positive role in making a difference. If you would like to assist the ‘Save the Bears fund’ please follow the links on the side bar.
The following are a few things I’ve trained in and have found useful in teaching and learning. Although I must add that I don’t necessarily follow one particular program, but take from each what I find useful or suits the needs of students I am teaching at the time.
International Baccalaureate – Primary years Program (IB/PYP)
IWB training and development
South Australian Learning to Learn Project
I hope you find the site useful and look forward to hearing your suggestions and feedback.
